Itinerary
Day 1:
Today is your arrival day. Check in the hotel or homestay of your choice. You can take a rest for awhile. Eat breakfast or lunch depending on your arrival time. Afterwards, we will start our tour by introducing the city of Yogyakarta. You will be taken on a Yogyakarta city tour. Visiting downtown, passing through governor office, Sultan Palace, Kraton, and the art-road Malioboro street. You will have lunch at a local restaurant. At night, you will be taken to see Yogyakarta’s nightlife, and taste the local junk food prepared by the street vendors. Included: (B), (L), (D).
Day 2:
After breakfast, you will go to Muntilan, a small village located about 30 km or 20 miles north of Yogyakarta to see the magnificent Borobudur. A Buddhist temple built in the ninth century. It’s one of the seven wonders of the world. Then, you will have lunch at the local restaurant, which serve delicious Javanese cuisine and also international cuisine. After lunch, we will visit the village Kaliurang located at the foot of mount Merapi, a very active volcano. Then returning to Yogyakarta to have dinner. Afterwards you have free time to explore Yogyakarta at night. Included: (B), (L), (D).
Day 3:
Today you will go to see Prambanan, a very ancient Hindu temple built at around sixth century. Legend has it that the bizarre architecture was built in one night by elves. Then we will visit the Sultan Kraton. It was a palace for the King of Yogyakarta with the Javanese ancient architecture. After eating “Gudeg” a traditional Javanese cuisine, we will take you to see pottery and if time permit we will visit Batik garment home industry. Included: (B), (L), (D).
